The server
is connected to the Internet via Fiber Optic. The technical name for the
connection is T1. The T1 was ordered 
through UUnet on May 30, 2000. Since Smartsoft,
LLC is located in the middle of nowhere
in Southern New Jersey
it took UUnet (MCI WorldCom)
some time to deliver the service. Because it took longer than expected
the system first run over ISDN for a couple of months. Southern New Jersey
was Bell
Atlantic (now Verizon) territory, so finally everybody was looking at the same page and
MCI WorldCom
and Bell Atlantic
decided that Bell Atlantic
would put a mile (yes a real mile 1.609 Km!) of Fiber Optic from the Middle School at Perry road to 88 Petersburg
Road to provide the connection.
